What is Yoga?
The word Yoga comes from Indian philosophy, it literally means union, and in this context refers to the union of the individual's soul with the universe.
“Yoga is the ability to focus the mind on a single point, without distraction. Yoga is a physical discipline; it uses the body and breath to develop self-awareness while causing mental clarity.”
How Can I Help?
My name is Brianne Barraza, and I am here to help and empower you.
I am an internationally Certified Yoga Instructor. I have worked in the yoga, fitness, and wellness fields for 8 years. In that time I’ve seen countless workout trends come and go, all promising to be the next “new thing,” the holy grail of health.
What I offer is not a trend; it is a practice for daily life with transformative results.
This change begins with connecting your mind to your body. We allow injuries to hold us back, we tell ourselves we just can’t do it. I know how profoundly our psychological and physical well being is so deeply intertwined.
And because of that, I know how to get un-stuck. My methods work to cultivate positive momentum and lasting changes that radiate out and benefits all areas of your life.
Mind Over Matter
We all know those remarkable folks who are still hiking, swimming, running, dancing, and traveling--full of life and vitality--and wonder… how in the world did they do that? Here’s the secret. And no, it’s not rocket science and it’s not luck.
These go-getters achieve lasting health, joy, and fulfillment through a mindful and cultivated regular practice. You too possess the power to reshape your life, to heal and strengthen your body, to awaken your spirit, and live a truly fulfilling life—from the inside out. Yoga is an ancient system of healing and spiritual development that brings holistic balance to your whole being: physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. The invigorating and uplifting benefits of yoga are myriad and must be experienced to be believed.
“Therapeutic Yoga” combines the power of yoga with two modern healing disciplines; kinesiology, the study of the mechanics of body movement and bio-mechanics, the study of the structure and function of the body.
By merging these three complementary fields, I created a practice that is hyper aware of the body. The practice mindfully works around and slowly heals existing injuries.
There is also a great deal of emphasis put on core work. This helps increase mobility throughout the entire body. Circulation increases as does our energy. Our body's natural healing mechanisms are activated in a systematic and safe way.
Let me help you get there! Step-by-step, breath-by-breath, it’s time for a stronger, healthier, more flexible, vibrant and confident.
I've taken numerous classes with Bri and have enjoyed every one of them. I like high intensity work outs and her class is similar to that of my interval training classes. In that it's challenging and I break out in a good sweat. She's tentative and explains how to perform each pose well. Highly recommend her for your yogi needs.

I've been working with Brianna in private sessions for the past several months now. Her knowledge and training from her time in India really pays off. This is real, life-invigorating, healing, and centering yoga that has made a tremendous impact in both my personal and professional life. I have greater health, focus, stamina, energy, and inner peace than ever before.

I'm an athlete, well at least try to be and my schedule is very busy when it comes to being able to fit yoga into my life. Brianna is an excellent teacher as I've been able to be more confident in my poses and have been able to open up my hips and strengthen my core; which I've completely taken for granted.
